In reply to Wellbutrin SR - Side Effects, posted by DBromden on October 28, 2000, at 9:12:57
Hi,
How's this for a vague answer?. It depends. Here are the questions you might want to be considering.
Is the drug helping you at all or showing signs that it might be helpful? As everyone on this board knows, if I were in your situation and found the side effects intolerable after a week and there weren't any signs that the drug was going to be beneficial, I would ask my psychiatrist for a new drug. But others on this board would advise you to give it more time so it has to be your call.
If you feel the drug is helping but the side effects are still intolerable and you don't wish to see if they go away, maybe an adjustment is in order such as lowering the dose or taking something besides Wellbutrin that's similar chemically.
Finally, if you decide that you want to see if the side effects go away, that is a perfectly legitmate option also. Only you know what's best.
I am sorry you're having side effects as we all know the feeling. Sorry I don't have an easy answer but I hope my answer was somewhat helpful.
