> HI everyone. Great board here. I've been on Celexa 10mg. for 10 days. I've had 1 day (2 days ago) where I thought, finally, it's working! My anxiety and depression, my obsessive thoughts, all lifted and I felt calm and optimistic, and yes, even happy. SSRI's have given me this feeling in the past, so I don't think it was a placebo effect. But since that one glorious day I feel down and anxious again, and the obsessive worrying is back. Has anyone else had this experience? Should I hang in there? Things are better than last week, when the side effects made me extremely anxious and unable to eat or sleep. But still, I don't know how long I can stand not feeling better . . .

> Thanks, everyone.Hey E! I am currently on Celexa and have been taking it for about 3 months now. I know exactly the way you feel because I went through the same scenario. I have OCD and when I first started Celexa I would get a couple of days of feeling "great" but then I would fade back into my obsessive cycle. My psychiatrist who has worked extensively in the drug research field told me that some people just have a higher tolerance than others and require higher doses. This is especially true in people with obsessive symptoms. I trusted his advise and went through the same cycle of feeling great for a little bit then returning to square one until I reached 100mg. This is the dose that I am at now and I have finally reached consistency and feel A LOT better! It is a very frustrating process, I know, but hang in there. It is a good drug relatively free of side effects. I got up to 120mg at one point just to see if I could improve even further on feeling good but it made me too drowsy. 100mg is a good level for me to keep myself in a pleasant frame of mind and stop the obsessive thought cycle. Now dont get me wrong, these drugs are not miracle cure alls, but they definetly aid yourself in learning how to deal with the particular areas you find troublesome. I go to therapy and have learned ways to control it and it has made a world of difference. Couldn't have done it without the Celexa..........I still have an "iffy" day every once in a while and I might try another drug because my doctor believes I can get even better but I pretty satisfied with the regemin I am on now.....we'll see.....I had the exact same disappointment you had about 3 months ago but I cant tell you how happy I am that I stuck with it. You should too......dont be discouraged......good luck and sorry to ramble!!!!
