Absolutely true, but....

I have bipolar-II and was prescribed zoloft for depression prior to the bipolar diagnosis. I went manic and rapid cycled 3 times in 6 days -- it was hell. Now, if it were my GP, I don't know what she would do: no training, no background, possibly no referrals either. Since it was my pdoc, my wife could call him and have him make arrangements for immediate hospitalization.

So... Legal? Yes. Prudent? Probably not.
