> finding this web site has been a real help.As Allison said, it should smooth out in a couple weeks. In the meantime, you could always temporarily lower the dose. Cut in half with a knife if you have to. Wellbutrin degrades quickly once the inside is exposed to air, but that shouldn't be a problem if you took for example one half of a cut pill one day and the other half the next day. Just don't let a cut pill sit around for a week or so. In any case, lowering your dose and then gradually increasing it is a good strategy with any medication.
If you show any signs of getting worse instead of better, don't be afraid to call the doctor and discontinue the medication. It's hard to tell at this point if you are feeling side effects or if instead you are getting worse. Could be either. Regardless, in either case, cutting the dose in half could be a very helpful strategy. You can always increase it later as you get used to it. Besides, if it is the right medicine for you, you should feel some good from it within two weeks (at least a 20% improvement) at whatever dose. If you're not 20% better in 2 weeks, that's not a good sign.
I remember clearly someone here months ago who said something like, "What's this six week wait stuff? I feel wonderful my first day on Wellbutrin!" Obviously it was a good match for her. One has to wonder if it's a good match for you. Time will tell. In that same vein, one has to wonder if antidepressants in general are right for a lot of us with depression. All too often (about 50% of the time) we discover usually by accident that some other kind of medication worked much better, even when there was no clinical justification to think it would.
