I could not sleep and was terrified constantly, hallucinated that I was seeing a man with an ax, had hemorraging. I kept taking it because I was desperate to be rid of the severe OCD symptoms. I would hold onto my comfortor and rock back and forth and pray until about 5 a.m every morning. My pdoc insisted it was the side effects were me and not the medicine! She told me to increase it and so I did and things became even worse. I do not have a mental illness that causes me to hallucinate. I called my pdoc again and she told me to increase the medicine. This time I insisted that she tell me how to get off of the medicine. I had been on it about a month. She told me to just quit taking it which I think was wrong because I had withdrawal that was rough, too. Shortly after this I discontinued seeing this doctor. She did not take me seriously. Now, I will not continue to take something that gives me bizarre side effects and psychosis. I just thought I would share this story and see if anyone can relate. It was plain awful!

> R.Anne, I tried several meds for OCD and depression before finding one I could tolerate. Luvox gave me terrible sexual side effects, as did Prozac and Zoloft. Serzone was great but didn't help with OCD. Effexor-XR helped me a lot, as did Serzone. Am now also taking Seroquel along with these. Go to a different pdoc, since yours doesn't seem responsive, and talk about your concerns. There are many many meds nowdays that are effective for OCD. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the article by Michael Jenike, MD, at www.ocfoundation.org, regarding adult meds for OCD. Hope things get better for you soon!

Thanks Cindy but that was an experience from years ago and I am with another doctor on different medicines now. I just wondered if anyone else had a horrible experience with it. I know it helps some people and I'm glad for that but it almost did me in!
