Yes, I know alot about the meds you are on. It's the Depakote that causes weight gain
I was in a hospital for a month when I was put on Depakote for Bipolar. I immediately gained weight and became very depressed. Many os
the other patients were also on Depakote and almost every single
one of them gained weight, although it can be a very good drug otherwise. I just could not tolerate it and I would personally rather be depressed than be fat so I went off it. I was also on Wellabutrin which I took with Prozac and this was probably the best I had felt in years. Some do tend to have appetite loss on these drugs but I never lost any significant amount of weight nor did I gain. I had to be taken off the Wellabutrin because I have seizure disorder and the drug severely increased my seizures. I am still fighting Bipolar, and think I have tried every drug in the PDR but nothing has been as good as the combo of Wellabutrin and Prozac. I am also on Topamax for seizures and one of the main side effects is average weight loss of 7 lbs. but I have not lost nor gained though I know of many people whom have lost from Topamax. Tomorrow I'm starting on Effexor I'm so scared to gain weight. I'm also on Adderal for ADD and have no appetite while I'm on it but am starving when it wears off so I guess it evens out. Anyway, hope this helps some but I can honestly tell you Depakote causes the biggest problem w/ weight gain. Good luck!
