Did you get an endocrine work up? Estradiol, progesterone, cortisol etc? I know these numbers can vary greatly from day to day or morning to night, so following some of the Merck manual protocols for measuring levels hourly (saliva may be OK instead of blood) that its an expensive process. The other thing to do is get a script for a lab to get the levels and wait to get the draw done when you feel worst.
Hormone replacement therapy is available, though it has been an uphill battle finding a good endocrinologist that will treat people "only" our age. I think women should have an easier time of it than I have because HRT is more established for women and the anti-steroid propaganda doesn't impair MD attitudes towards female sex hormone replacement as it does for male sex hormone replacement. Still, most endocrinology clients are diabetics and you may have the best luck with a younger MD, one in a teaching hospital, or one who lists their subspecialties. They are most likely to be current and knowledgeable in your area.
