WEIGHT GAIN AND DEPRESSD LIBIDO ON AD'S

Posted by S.THOMAS on October 10, 2000, at 15:33:26

Hello . . .this is my first posting. I have long sufferd with dysthymia, but have avoided the SSRI's because i fear weight gain and depressed libido. I have taken Wellbutrin 300mg/day, and did not expreience the above side effects to a marked degree. However, I still felt "sub" par. I switched to Effexor XR, and have only been taking 37.5 mg for 2 days, but after reading the postings here, I am TERRIFIED that I am going to gain weight. I am already @20lbds. heavier than I need to be, and I have a slow metabolism as it is, so the VERY LAST thing I need is to gain one more pound. Also, I have had the chronic yawns for the past two days, am feeling "fluish" and have woken up for the past two nights and had difficulty falling back asleep. Does this sound like Effexor side-effects? I am seriously doubting that Effexor is going to be the drug for me. I am interested in combo's that folks have tried to combat dysthymia that have NOT resulted in a weight gain OR depressed libido. Thanks, Sonya
