Are there directories or references that will point me to a "good" pdoc? Life goes by so quickly I don't feel that I have time to "trial and error" thru a series of doctors.

Although I doubt he takes private patients (he might), you may want to contact Dr. Mark S. George, of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charlston. He is currently involved in the development of VNS (vagal nerve stimulation), but has a distinguished career in investigative psychopharmacology. He's a nice guy, and I'm sure he'll take the time to give you some good referrals.

Good luck.
