James,
TRH, when diluted and applied nasally has an action upon certain receptors in the nasal cavity. Exaclty is unclear to me though it probably acts as an antagonist to the NMDA recpetors. This action may create a cascade of events effecting other neurotranmitters. By whichever means however, it apparently has a modulatory effect upon the neurotransmission on dopamine, serotonin, noradrenaline and other neurotransmitters. Anyway, the end result is that it acts, for many, to increase alertness and enhance mood, all in very rapid fashion. BTW, TRH nasal spray’s main use is to mitigate the symptoms of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Of course, TRH is normally used as a diagnostic for thyroid function.
I am looking at TRH, ketamine nasal spray, oxytocin nasal spray and cycloserine in order to better understand there potential in for mitigating treatment resistant depression, cognitive deficit and anergia.
