> I have been on remeron for a few day, take it before bed and pass out for 12 to 14 hours, I can't do this, it is horrible. I am out of it all of the time. i am going to have to switch meds, I was on wellbutrin and got side effects, my jaw keep clenching like I was on speed or something ( not that I have taken it but I am a social worker and witness speed dependence alot!) anyway, has anyone had this side effect on wellbutrin, and does anyone take a really low dose? I was thinking if I did that I could go back on it and try again, this remeron is basically wiping my life out..

James here.....

I few days is not enough time to see if sedation
will be less, esp if you try some of the ideas others
have mentioned. EVERY antidepressant does something strange at
first, unless one is willing to stick it out there really is no
point in trying AD's. You really don't get a good indication
in the first week of anything so it is pointless to to change meds
after a week. My experiance is that Remeron was very sedating in the first week or
so, I slept 12-14 hrs, this is normal. Better in the lest few weeks, I don't
even notice any sedation in the AM, now. Keep in mind ths ALL antidepressants take 4-8
weeks to work. The sedation stops when the AD kicks in.
