In reply to Celexa withdrawl symptoms, posted by Sara on August 20, 2000, at 2:09:43
> I have been on Celexa for aproximatly 1 yr for depression. My orginal maintenance dose was 40 mg. I improved and stepped down to 20 mg. I have been doing exceptionally well so my doctor decided it was time to go down to 10mg for a month and then stop the medication entirely. I never had any side effects while taking the medication, however I am suffering from severe dizziness on the 10 mg dose. I can't find any information of withdrawl symptoms and my doctor just shrugs his shoulders. The dizziness is so bad at times that I don't even think I should drive. Does anyone know if dizziness is common when stopping Celexa? Please help... spinning in seattle
Sara,I have experienced that dizziness during the w/d of Celexa recently (and from other meds as well),but do be advised that it fades out;and as my doctor
(a psychopharmacologist) told me when I tapered off of the Celexa, the worst of the w/d's occur for about 3 weeks and then that's that. You'll be fine soon.JudithC
