Katey,
I'm only guessing here, but it sounds like your aunt reached toxic levels with the Lithium. I'm on Lith as well and the first thing my doc told me was to drink a lot of water to avoid the potential toxic build-up. I drink a minimum of 6 8oz glasses of water every day, do you know how much your aunt was drinking? Also, she should have been having her blood tested every 30 days to monitor the Lith levels, do you know if this was being done? How much was her daily intake of the Lith? Mine is 1200mgs a day.
You and your aunt will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you will keep us updated on her condition.
Peace,
Greg> Recently, my aunt overdosed on lithium. The doctors told us that your Li blood level is suposed to be between a .5 & 1. Her level when they brought her in was a 9. I dont know for sure what she was diagnosed with, but I do know that she exhibited signs of depression. Right now my aunt is in a coma, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about lithium, it's side affects, long term affects of the over dose, anything and everything would be very useful.
