I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and accompanying depression several years ago while I was getting my Master's and working fulltime. At that time I didn't know what it was and it was really reeking havoc on my cognitive abilities. I felt like I was in a fog all the time. I heard about "Smart Drugs" and read a book. It gave a list of overseas pharmacies that will ship to the U.S.
The place I used only sells "Smart Drugs" and a few "life extension" drugs. Over the course of about two years I only had one shipment seized by Customs. I had to provide a detailed document and a prescription before they would release the order. I sent them a letter stating that the drugs were "experimental" and not approved in the US by the FDA. According to the smart drug book you are allowed to import something like a 3 month supply of non-approved drugs for personal consumption blahblahblah. They said, nice letter - we're destroying your order. The good news is that I didn't get in any kind of trouble for importing illegal drugs, but I was out $400. Their policy is that if your shipment gets seized it basically your tough luck. But they were really nice and on my next order they threw in a few boxes extra.
I tried Piracetam, Anacervix, Nootropil, Deprenyl, and Hydergine. Quite honestly they didn't help me and thankfully they didn't hurt me. I would never, ever advise playing doctor and self medicating. In my case I was pretty desperate and hadn't gotten the proper medical and psychological help to diagnose the illnesses. And when I did my doctor was very cool about the smart drugs. He read up on them and while he couldn't advocate taking them he could help me take them correctly.
If you're going to try to self-medicate please learn as much as you can and please, please, please tell your doctor.
