Hi Larry,
I've had chronic fatigue syndrome and accompanying depression for several years now. I feel
lucky because both have been pretty mild. Sometimes I wish it would just have gotten really
bad so maybe it would get over with. Sort of like walking around with the sniffles; you wish
you'd just get the flu and get it over with.I know how you feel with the job stress. I went to school full-time and worked full-time.
Sometimes I wonder how I made it through. I've tried Pamelor, Prozac, Wellbutrin, and
Celexa. I never really felt like they did much of anything. I just felt really tired and
pretty apathetic towards everything. I've been on Effexor XR for about 4 weeks now I guess
and feel like it's the first thing that's helped. I felt something in the first few days
that I took it. Don't know whether it was the meds or the new med "honeymoon" - thinking
that "this will be the one that works". I started out with the kit too. I don't feel
100% by any means. But after feeling in the negative numbers for so many years I'll take
any positive that I can get.Give it a couple of months or so to work. And work with your doctor on the dosage or
companion meds. Sometimes just one doesn't do the trick.> Gosh, after reading some of these comments I almost wish I didn't find this website. Just started Effexor with kit. Prescribed for years of high job stress which I seem to be unable to control & poured over into life outside of work. Will give it a try & if results are negative believe I will just go back to hanging by my teeth as I have been. Have never been on an anti-depressant before. I hope all others do very well.
