Andre - I have noticed that irritability is a very common (usually) short term side effect of Wellbutrin™. After take it for 2 or 3 weeks, many people seem to get really bitchy for a couple of weeks (ie nasty, "bite-your-head-off" kind of irritability).
One of my customers, who was taking Zyban™ actually yelled and screamed at her boss for playing solitaire on the computer during lunch hour (which is allowed). For this reason she stopped taking the Zyban for a couple of months, but she restarted using Wellbutrin, warned everyone that she was going to be a monster, and got over the irritability within a month of starting. The irritability did resurface after a couple of weeks, but faded and she is now more pleasant than I have ever seen her.
Wellbutrin and Zyban are exactly the same drug (bupropion), but they have different indications (Wellbutrin approved only for depression and Zyban approved only for smoking cessation). Other than the legal implications, there is absolutely no difference between the 2 brands (pills are manufactured in the same machine - only the ink markings are different).
Also, Wellbutrin does reverse the sexual dysfunction in about 25% (or perhaps a little lower) of the people we've tried it on. It's worth a try. One should notice a difference within a couple of weeks. If there has been no improvement in sexual functioning or if side effects are a problem the docs stop the bupropion after about a month.
