Hi everyone, this is Louie, I'm 28 and was diagnosed with chronic depression 2 years ago. I have tried about 10 different antidepressant, effexor being the most effective for only about 6 months but nothing has worked so far. Recently I stopped taking everything I was on (without my Doctor's knowledge) and a terrible insomnia set in, sleeping only every 2 nights, feeling tremendously depressed, with an incredible amount of anxiety. So I finally went to see my Dr and he prescribed ativan, desyrel and Serzone. A day after I started the medication I was able to sleep and my depression went away like magic, I feel great, rested, happy etc... My question is this: If antidepressants don't work right away until about 2 to 4 weeks after you take them, then that means that the Serzone isn't doing anything at all yet, so should I continue taking it since I'm not depressed anymore in such short amount of time? Could it be that what I have is some kind of Anxiety disorder that causes my depression and now that I'm finally taking something for anxiety is taking away the depression once thought to be the problem? or is the Serzone in combination with ativan and desyrel necessary? Anyone with any thoughts about this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys and gals for all your support. Sincerey, Louie
