Sexual dysfunction with desipramine and reboxetine

Posted by J. R. on July 18, 2000, at 21:20:12

Hello,

I've had sexual dysfunction from my very first doses
of desipramine and reboxetine. Seems like maybe any
drug affecting norepinephrine causes this for me. I
also had a similar (though not quite as severe)
problem for the first few hours after each time I took
Effexor (not the long-acting), which also affects
norepinephrine to some extent.

Problem is, the SSRIs haven't helped me that much,
and from what I know, it seems more likely that drugs
affecting norepinephrine would be more helpful (when
I'm depressed, I tend to sleep a lot, eat a lot, can't
work toward any goals at all).

Anyone have similar experience, or any advice? Do the
sexual side effects wear off if you keep going?

Thanks in advance for any input - and for all the
advice, experiences, and support.

J.
