Yes, please check my thyroid and depression folder at the following address:

First of all, you may need both synthroid, which is T4, and a medicine that is T3, like cytomel. With psychiatric symptoms of thyroid, many patients respond better to a combination of both types of thyroid hormone.
Until a few months ago, I really did not know if I would ever come out of my horrible depression. Then, my pdoc suggested raising my thyroid hormone doses, and I confirmed this approach with an endocrinologist, and that is when I started to feel better.
I also take antidepressants (effexor xr, serzone) and a stimulant (methylphenidate sr). But without the thyroid hormone replacement, I would not be responding sufficiently to the psychpharm meds.
Check out some of the links, and let me know what you think.
