Effexor XR and side effects

Hi My Brother has recently been put on Effexor XR. He seems to have a lot of side effects. He has also been put on KEPPRA for seizer control. Both medicines seem to have the same side effects which he has- tremors in both hands, anorexia and loss of apetite, doesn't do things he used to do to help around the house, makes his already bad memory (due to encephalitis) worse, can be easily agitated, depressed, etc. Anyone else have these problems????
