In reply to Paxil Withdrawl, how long does it last?, posted by Jodie on July 4, 2000, at 18:22:14
don't know how uninformed your doc is but ask him if he'll prescribe JUST ONE dose of prozac for you. when i went through what you are, the most common relief strategy was to take one dose of prozac because it's half-life is so much longer than paxil's that it will help to let you down slowly. i'm no expert though-just a savvy survivor-i STRONGLY suggest talking to a REAL pdoc and if you feel really horrible do not be afraid to go to the ER. i ended up there and the first thing they gave me was ativan-and I.V. pepcid AC because my guts were on fire. i was already five days out on a limb after stopping cold-turkey-the incompetent arser who prescribed it NEVER said word one about gradually coming off-so the ativan was pretty much all i needed. please make sure that you get the help you need. if it gets too wierd, head for the ER. that's what they're there for. i hope this helps.
