Taking Paxil alone without Remeron has been keeping me up at nights, and I need to know what I can safely use. I would like to use something herbal...but right on the side of the damn bottle it says consult with a doctor before taking if you have a "depressive state", or if you are taking any sedatives (Ativan, up to 1.5 mg/day) I like to use the Ativan only when needed for anxiety...I don't want to start using it for sleep inducing, as I know it can become addictive, but I am wondering what the reason for the Melatonin warning is...any insight out there? THANX AGAIN.

Rick E., Cam could better advise you on this. I don't know why they put a warning about melatonin if you're depressed, unless they are making sure they won't get sued if it doesn't agree with an AD. I take Effexor-XR and Serzone and have used Melatonin to aid sleep, without any problems. But ask your pdoc and Cam! BTW, other good sleep aids (besides Serzone) for me have been kava kava and (tonight) Benadryl (I have an itchy rash). Sweet dreams!
