Hi Lucy,
I've taken depakote (Epilim) several years as a mood stabilizer; it is an anti-convulsant and normally you have to get blood work done at regular intervals to check liver function and blood levels which determine dose. As long as my blood levels hover around 60, I don't have too many side effects. It works well in hypo/manic states for me but I feel worsens depression. When you say BPD, are you referring to borderline personality disorder or bipolar disorder? Just curious.
