this morning at a dr visit my medicine was changed from Effexor of 150 mg/day to Celexa 20 mg. I was told I could just start taking Celexa today instead of my Effexor and it should take about 4 days to kick in. OK, anyone else ever do something similar to this? What are the chances of me being thrown into a whirl wind? Reasons for changing is because 3 weeks ago i had a laser gall bladder surgery and I am still having burning in the diaphragm area. before resorting to more test, the change of anti-depressant might help in making less acid. Effexor does have a side effect of stomach discomfort as well as other things. I've been on Effexor for over a year and everything is great. I hope I don't have to go through drastic changes just because of the medicine change. I also noticed that since I have been on Effexor I have put on 10 pounds. I was wondering if weight gain is a common side effect for celexa. I really don't want to put any weight on. I really want to get rid of what I have gained from this last year!!
