In reply to Seroquel - general info please, posted by Martha McClelland on May 28, 2000, at 15:07:16
Martha - I'd have your friend talk to the doctor again. I think that there may have been a little miscommunication. Have her ask the doc what would cause a fatality from Seroquel. This drug is the safest atypical antipsychotic medication that is available. Even in overdose attempts (where doses in excess of 10 grams were taken) people have recovered without any serious effects. The only things noticed were exacerbations of the side effects (eg drowsiness, sedation, mild tachycardia, and hypotension). Clinical dosages very seldom exceed 800mg (0.8 grams) per day. Does your friend have any other medical disorders besides psychiatric ones? - Cam.
