> So the provigil seems to have pooped out...or actually I think I just don't feel euphoric like I did 2 weeks ago. But I have found that I am wanting to drink every evening....have kind of an edgey feeling. Is this anxiety??????I didn't feel this way when I was taking the neurontin...just felt stupid and tired. Any ideas????? elise
Here's an idea Elise. Keep the Provigil, but add a low dose of Zyprexa or Rispedal. A 2.5 to 5.0mg dose of Zyprexa should relieve that anxiety feeling and also improve sleep (whether or not that's a concern).
The reason I suggest this is kind of complicated. But basically, all stimulants work by stimulating certain receptors. But often the stimulation is not specific enough. That is, it stimulates receptors we don't want stimulated, in addition to the ones we do want stimulated. The result of the undesired stimulated receptors is stuff like anxiety. Zyprexa will likely reverse the stimulation of the receptors that are being overstimulated without affecting the good ones.
No matter what the stimulant happens to be--ritalin, adderall, provigil, whatever--they often provide much better overall results with reduced side effects when combined with a low dose antipsychotic. Stimulants+APs are wonderful combinations I think. Just something to consider.
