Sharri,
I've never taken Paxil, just know that I've tried and haven't been able to tolerate other SSRIs.

I am taking Wellbutrin now at the top recommended dose (U.S.) of 400mg. It has helped considerably. There are a number of threads above and in past months on Wellbutrin that you might want to read. Also, there is info on different drugs through Dr. Bob's links page, which you'll find at the top of this page. In the meantime, here's a web site with some information on Wellbutrin:
http://www.pdr.net/gettingwell/depression/prevention/consumers/cn_bupropion.html

Being armed with information and questions for your doctor is your best bet in trying to get well.

I have actually lost weight on Wellbutrin, which from the things I read is common. Did you doctor tell you why he/she wanted to take you off Paxil? Was it working for you? Did your doctor explain why he/she was putting you on Wellbutrin?

Good luck.
