> 3. Why was Wellbutrin once used as a diet pill. Is it a type of speed? Does it finally settle into your system and work as an antidepressant?Gloria - I'm not sure if Wellbutrin was used as a diet pill, but it's structure is related to the diet pill Tenuate Dospan (diethylpropion, I believe). I do not believe Wellbutrin works as well as Tenuate Dospan in curbing appetite, but I also do not believe that one can lose weight by taking a pill alone (unless you have a methadrine - speed - addiction - not recommended). Then, on the other hand, I never have heard of Tenuate Dospan helping in depression. - Cam W.
