Depakote??

Does anyone know anything about Depakote? My doctor just gave me a prescription for it at 125 mgs 2 times a day for now to add to my Topamax for headaches. I've been doing some reading up on this stuff and now I'm scared to take it! There seem to be way too many dangerous and deadly side effect including liver failure among them. Does anybody have any experience with this stuff? Thanks.
