Julie,
If you type Effexor into your search engine you'll get back listings on its chemical history. One of the many possible side effects of Effexor is memory loss, and you should contact your doctor immediately if that happens. I too had memory loss on Effexor and my doc changed my med right away. Even if your pdoc can't see you right away, get him on the phone soon and tell him what's going on, I'm sure he'll want to know. Hope this helps.Peace,
Greg> I'm really starting to worry about some weirdnesses I've noticed in the past couple months in my thinking/speaking. I've been forgetting things like the names of musicians whose albums I have; old poems and such that I had memorized; small things people have just told me a few minutes beforehand. I've also noticed that sometimes I'll be thinking one word and another will come out of my mouth. I've noticed this in writing, too- I'll be aiming to write one word, and I'll mix up the letters or write another word. And I even started to stammer a little the other day, which I've never done before. I'm wondering if these disturbing things might be a bad side effect of 187.5 mg a day of Effexor (or the Effexor and 6 years of Zoloft before it). And of course, I'm scared I have Alzheimers (I'm 36; no early-onset Alzheimers in my family).
> It could be stress, I guess- but I'm not under a lot of stress right now, and I exercise a lot and try not to be a stress monkey.
> Made an appointment with my psychdoc, but it's for next month- he's booked til then.
> Any thoughts, y'all? Thanks.
