I took Serzone a few years ago and it was like zooming up into the clouds and crashing down and rebounding all the time, way up and then the black pit of despair. Not my drug.
A friend told me never to use Wellbutrin; she realized one day while screaming at her vet, she should probably quit. However, I am using Wellbutrin, 300 mg, and no problems.
I am also on Effexor SR 300 mg and it makes me sort of sleepy but that's about all.
Wellbutrin=Zyban, and seems to cut cravings in general.
My mood is OK, which is better than the black pit of despair, paralyzed, very goth, and wondering how long I will have to survive this hell before I can finally die.
These drugs are very art-vs-science. Experiences vary a great deal, so don't give up until you've given it a good, fair chance to work for YOU. A pinch of this, a lower dose after the initial couple of months may be worth a try, take it in the a.m. instead of p.m. if you get restless--all sorts of tricks of the trade are worth it if it keeps you not depressed or whatever.
Good luck. Shar
