effexor made me manic to the point i was stripping every day and doing lots of other reckless things. in order to curb the mania we are now adding a mood stabilizer (tried neurontin. didn't work. now trying lithium.) so far out of all the drugs i have tried (zoloft, wellbutrin, klonopin, neurontin) i guess the effexor is doing the best job. but that's not saying much. hope it works out for you.
