In reply to Seroquel for depression/anxiety?, posted by Alan on April 5, 2000, at 8:09:51
I am a big fan of the antipsychotics to help with AD's for depression/anxiety. I have been helped quite a bit by Zyprexa. I asked my pdoc once about Seroquel and he steered me away from it. It's been awhile but I think he mentioned something about my addictive nature (alcoholic) and that he felt safer with the Zyprexa. The one good thing about AP's is that they do tend to work quickly and you will notice results within the first few days.
IMO, it's worth a try but preferably along with an AD that has given you SOME benefit. If there is an AD that has helped a little but not as much as you had hoped then you may want to ttry to augment that with the Seroquel. I don't know that the AP's work as AD's by themselves.
Good Luck,
Chris
