Try a university medical school or teaching hospital to find a psychopharmacologist. But you can still expect that there might be a period of experimentation or switching meds to find the best one for you. Unfortunately, the science isn't advanced enough yet for doctors to be able to tell from symptoms exactly which drug will work best for which patient. But if you prepare yourself to put up with an initial period of med trials, chances are you'll find a good one. And a psychopharmacologist is a good place to start. I got very good advice from one. Good luck!
> I need to find another psychiatrist as soon as I can. I have had so many problems taking different meds. My medicine cabinet has been quite full at times, but have thrown them all out. I want to find someone who can say ,"I've got just the thing for you. I am bipolar by the way. Would like someone prefferably in the Charleston, SC area.
