sleep- what's normal?

How long do normal people sleep? Okay, maybe you aren't all normal (especially this duck person) but my pdoc seems to think I don't sleep enough but if you feel fine after a few hours who says you have to sleep 6 or 7 or 8 hours? Didn't Einstein or Eisenhower or somebody only sleep 3 or 4 hours a night? Somebody give me a scientific answer, please!
