I am very curious about one of my sisters. Up until puberty, she had a terrible temper, was violent, was unsuccessful socially (both shy and awkward), and had no childhood friends.
At about puberty, whatever it was seemed to disappear. She is now a 35 year old woman, and when I ask her why she was the way she was as a child, she says she has honestly no idea. She is a socially successful person with a good career. Just in the past 2 years did she start to experience a seasonal depression. She takes ADs, which work for her.
Her mother, brother and sister (me) all have ADHD - I don't believe she has this. Are there other disorders that fizzle out just after puberty (around 15 or 16)?
Thanks, Janice
