Hey, Phil. You sound good.

I was thinking about what it might be like to be in sales while struggling with depression. Let me start by saying that I cannot sell anything to save my life, depressed or not.

But when I think of what goes into doing that work (this, of course, is my totally uneducated perception), I think of the following things: optimism, social confidence, belief in yourself and belief in the product or service you are promoting, ability to take interest in your client (or at least to fake it really well), energy, and initiative. I guess in some companies, there is also the added thing of having the energy and drive to engage in competition.

So, I guess I am saying I admire you greatly. To do all of this, while struggling with depression, requires a lot of energy, I would think. Plus, being in a new job, you are taking on the challenge of learning a lot, the new computer system being a good example.

I salute you, Phil of Babbleland!
