> After reading this board, I see that there are some augmentation strategies that I have not tried which could be beneficial (such as Revia). I've tried most all of the newer front line AD's, with the necessary trials and increases in dosages and one time, a tricyclic. I've also coupled these along with, at various times, augmentation strategies (Zyprexa, Ritalin, Dr. Pepper ... okay, just joking on the last strategy). Through it all, I have only experienced little or no effect, solely side effects and/or an initial reaction that "poops out."

Thus far, from the posts that I have read here, it seems like it may be a pattern.]

> Anyhow, from speaking with my pdoc and re-affirming his recommendation when I read Dr. Bob's tips, all paths seem to lead to an MAOI. I have been "de-toxing" from AD's for a few weeks now. My last being Prozac has made this arduous time somewhat more lengthened (with its longer half-life). Thus, I am inclined to go with an MAOI at this point as opposed to augmentation (with Revia, for example) of an SSRI type med again.

My depression has bits and pieces of the symptoms of primarily atypical as well as dysthymia and cyclothymia. Basically, I am a miserable person (though I am the only one who really seems to know this, but sometimes I give up with the difficult efforts of appearing so).

> So anyone got any words for me about MAOI's? Any good soy recipes (just joking)? Seriously, any places (web sites, etc.) that you could recommend would be helpful, particulary the real deal with the diet. Thanks all!I've just come off 4 wks of Parnate. It didn't help me . I found it easy to avoid cheese, wine etc. in their uadulterated form but when they are hidden you need to be careful. Here (Brazil), we have a delicious bread with cheese incorporated into the dough. I had polished off half a dozen of these delicacies before I realised what I had done. I spent a worrying couple of hours waiting for the headache etc. to appear but nothing happened. Good Luck Jan
