> Kim, Actually, I do not agree with the doc on this one. Taking parnate (or any other antidepressant) for 2 years and doing a cold turkey approach could cause some undesirable withdrawl problems. Not trying to scare you, but just giving my input. What was your dose? Also, It is not uncommon to mix an ssri and maoi (under close supervision). I would have your doc ASAP consult with someone to consider the option of tapering off the parnate and at the same time working in the celexa. Your plate is full and the last thing you need is serious withdrawal problems. What are these withdrawl symptoms? I have no idea, but I'm sure someone will respond and give their input. A knowledgable source on parnate is a poster by the name of Elizabeth. If she follows this post, she could probably fill you in. Best of luck, keep us informed on how things go. Blessings,

> S. SuggsHi "S," I (was) on 40mg/day Parnate.
Day one off and I'm feeling a little "buzzy," also tired but if I try to nap I'm having BAD dreams. I'm tired of arguing w/my pdoc over my meds so I agreed to just go along w/it. He says this is one way to find out whether or not the Parnate was helping at all--guess he's got that right, anyway. Thanks for blessings, I need all the help I can get.
