Celexa and Tenuate

Posted by David Fuller on February 17, 2000, at 12:04:33

I have been on 40 mg Celexa for about 6 months with pretty good results. I'm not what I would consider "normal", but my depression is now controlled enough that I can work and function. However, I am about 100 lbs overweight, and recently visited a Diet Center, where they suggested Diethylpropion (Tenuate) as an appetite suppressant. However, when I told them of my Celexa usage, they told me that I could not use both at the same time. I have gone off the Celexa and been taking the Tenuate for about 10 days, and I am feeling many of the symptoms of my depression returning. Is there any information about taking both of these drugs together? Does anyone have an alternative suggestion? Thanks
