Hello,
I am new to this arena of being treated for anxiety/depression, which to me, so far, seem very closely related.
Anyhow, I began 2 weeks ago taking Remeron 30mg each night, and at first helped with the anxiety, but made me terribly tired at work...to the point that I quit taking them. Then I had another episode of anxiety that was like hell for me, so I took an ativan, and decided to start on the Remeron again, after a week of not taking it.
The next day, I saw my doctor and explained how the Remeron didnt seem right for me, and I suggested that I saw an ad in Readers Digest for BuSpar. He agreed that BuSpar might help, and gave me a free trial box. I was to begin by taking 1/2 pill (7.5 mg), twice daily. I took the first half that day, another that evening, and another half the next day at noon, and I immediately went into some form of shock...I started shaking uncontrolably, feeling sick to my stomach, and having the absolute worst anxiety I have ever felt in my life...I was just sure that I was going to die (I obviously didnt...)
My question is more of a general one, as I have read alot of the postings before posting myself. Do ANY of these medications actually relieve the symptoms of anxiety? I know the source of my anxiety...something traumatic that MAY happen in the next few weeks or so, but the way I feel now, I dont know how I am going to make it through this time in the interim. Thanks in advance for any advice!
