In reply to Wellbutrin success stories?, posted by Glenn on February 13, 2000, at 20:31:29
I have heard of Wellbutrin SR being called an
"activating" antidepressant and I would agree.
It has given me more energy than I had on
others. The only downside of Wellbutrin, at least
as first, is that it makes it hard to fall asleep
at night. When I complained about the insomnia,
my doctor prescribed .5 mg of Klonopin to take at
bedtime and that has worked out great. As to
Wellbutrin's effectiveness as an antidepressant,
I'm not so sure, even though I take 400 mg per day.
I take a lot of other meds in addition to Wellbutrin
so it's hard to say which causes what. At first, I
began losing weight (which I really liked) but when
Celexa was added to the mix I stopped losing it. I
guess the best thing for me about Wellbutrin SR is
that it gives me more energy - at least enough to
start exercising again.
