Cheryl, I tried imipramine, Sinequan, and Ludiomil before Prozac. Imipramine was OK but is cardiotoxic. Ludiomil made me a crazy zombie. Sinequan made me sleep for two days. Prozac worked at first, but pooped out (after l0 years, this is not surprising though). Prozac, Luvox, Zoloft, and Serzone, before Effexor-XR. Prozac, Luvox, and Zoloft all interfered with sexual desire, arousal, and orgasm, big time! Serzone didn't do that, but didn't help my OCD. Guess I'm lucky, because other side effects either don't bother me much or go away (with Prozac, initial dizziness; with Luvox, thirst; with Serzone, mood swings and dizziness the first two weeks; with Effexor-XR, some insomnia). Usually I acclimate rapidly to whatever side effects the AD have (except for the problems with libido). Effexor-XR seems to help a lot without much loss of desire (although it did change the quality of my orgasms...instead of feeling like I needed more than one to feel satisfied, one is now much more satisfying, although it takes a little longer to get there! Hope this helps.--Cindy W
