While both Neurontin and Lamictal have advantages over more established mood stabilizers--in terms of safety, side effects, and antidepressant potential--I believe Lamictal has anecdotally shown more antidepressant features than Neurontin.

Do a search on Lamictal, Neurontin, new generation mood stabilizers, etc. Somewhere in there is a link to a page at Depression Central that has an excellent review of both drugs in bipolar. So while reading the responses to your tips search, make sure to check out the links options shown in blue letters. Chock full of great info on both drugs. There is fantastic info on both drugs used in bipolar that I haven't found available anywhere else. JohnL
