Yes, we looked into that. Just recently (well, 2003 or 2004) they passed a law in her state that said folks could NOT get a report of death, or cause of death statement or a death certificate, if they were just regular folks (not "official").I was rather surprised, because here (Texas) it is a matter of public record. Unexpected deaths always require an autopsy, and the findings are available to all.
However, having been married to a policeman at one time, I have some slight idea of how things work. And, having worked for the Great State of Texas for nigh on 20 years...I have a VERY good idea of how things work....as in, well, we don't need to talk about THAT.
That is my understanding of the law in her state. I could be wrong, but my Sweetie is a GREAT researcher, and we came up empty-handed.
Thanks for your concern and interest. It is almost midnight here (11:56 pm) on the day of her death 2 years ago. What an incomprehensible waste.
Damn these disorders! Damn them!
