Could be a carpenter bee. They are big and round, fly slowly kind of like a B-52 bomber or a C-17 cargo plane, and emit a low buzzing sound. If you find perfectly round holes about an inch in diameter in your eaves or other wood trim, along with what looks like sawdust, you have carpenter bees. They won't bother you. Most flying, stinging things are too busy with other tasks. We get them in the store, and I escort them out by inviting them to climb upon my flyswatter, then shake them loose through an open window. They are killable with that hornet spray stuff that you can get in a home and garden store...that stuff that kills on contact. It really works. Kinda scary how well it works...
