The EEOC was located in 7 World Trade. It collapsed much later that evening, after sustaining damage from 1 World Trade's collapse. Given that everyone had been safely evacuated for hours from 7, I can't say I'm sorry that particular office was reduced to dust. I know the neighborhood is glad its gone, too ... when the reconstruction design contest came up, people in TriBeCa were screaming about just how bad 7 made life for them.
Problem was, 7 World Trade had a HUGE fuel oil storage facility underneath it. It burned for weeks, and nobody really knows just how toxic the air got in Lower Manhattan because of it. Plus, those fumes got dragged out for miles throughout the subway system.

Well, yeah, someone probably DOES know ... the EPA was there. Whoever it is, they ain't telling the rest of us, tho.
