It's one of those shows that people will never admit to watching (unless they're under 12). Everyone bags the shit out of it, even those that secretly watch it and love every second.
I can take it or leave it myself. I'll watch it if it's on, but won't make any special effort.
As far as actors go, every actor and teacher will completely tear it to pieces, and loudly proclaim that they are 'too good for neighbours!' But if they were ever offered a part, they'd probably beg on their knees. Long hard hours, not particularly challenging in respect to artistic merits, but with a nice big regular pay check to go with it and some industry exposure (although its debatable as to whether its good or bad exposure. But hey, bad is better than none!)
Get this - most movies will film every scene anything from 8 to over 50 times. Most tv series will film around 4 - 8 takes. Neighbours does it in 1; 2 if you're really lucky!
