I am taking Depakote for Bipolar and my cravings for alcohol are diminished greatly when i'm on it. and i drank like a fish - really.
still have occasional bouts, but daily life is better.
i think if you can get the right meds, that's the first start. i don't agree with doing AA first (at least not for me), though after getting some medical help, i know it does help some people.
should i point out, very sadly, that sar commited suicide? I feel bad saying that, but some of the posts have been archived on PSB and i know you two conversed. we have been very sad.
let us know what happens.
