In reply to Busbar activating or sedating?, posted by CraigF on December 14, 1999, at 22:30:58
This is for GAD. (I think this may be a waste-basket diagnosis, and I wonder if my GAD is the same as someone else's GAD)
I am definitely doing much better after what... two-three weeks on Buspar. Serzone did work in a subtle way, I feel, but these effects have been buried under intense anxiety. As far as sedatie effects, I don't feel any. In the beginning I was taken by severe dizziness one-two hours after taking the Busbar, especially at night. Now I am taking one jus before I go to bed, and the other just after I wake up, with plenty of time for it to wear off before I have to be at work. If I have to be at work, say, 8 a.m., I st the alarm on five to take it. Other than that, I feel no side effects. I don't feel any side effects at all any more, like I was taking nothing at all.
My sleep has improved. When I come home at night, I have no problem getting to sleep, and after 6-8 hours no problems getting up. I am able to manage in situations that I previously couldn't cope with, and this amazes me almost every day - how maturely and calmly I can act when faced with a trigger.
Everyting is not perfect-perfect, and at times the anxiety still lifts its ugly head, but I am doing better than I ever dared to expect.
I've been able to hold on to a job for months now, and still going - Something I never thought I would be able to do. I have just moved to a new home, and I am spending lots of time out meeting people, and even getting into a relationship... Hey, new kinds of winds are blowing .
This is why you are not hearing from me so much any more, my life does not revolve around the computer and hiding in my bedroom any more.Maybe this will last, maybe it won't, but I intend to enjoy it while it does. How many breaks like this do we get in a lifetime, anyway...
Love
Dee
